Prenatal Massage
A nurturing, side-lying massage tailored to the second and third trimester. Helps relieve lower back tension, leg heaviness and overall fatigue using safe, pregnancy-appropriate techniques.
- Relieves back pain
- Reduces swelling
- Improves sleep
- Calms anxiety
What the prenatal massage actually is
Prenatal massage is a gentle, fully supported treatment adapted for pregnancy. You lie on your side, cushioned with pillows under the bump, between the knees and behind the back, while the therapist works the lower back, hips, shoulders, legs and feet with light to moderate pressure.
Everything about the session is adjusted: position, pressure, oils and the areas worked. We treat second and third trimester guests routinely, and the emphasis throughout is on comfort and safety rather than intensity.
Who it suits best
- Second and third trimester pregnancy
- Lower back and pelvic ache from a shifting centre of gravity
- Swollen, heavy legs and feet
- Disturbed sleep late in pregnancy
- Anyone who simply wants an hour of quiet care
Benefits you can expect
Lower back relief
Careful work through the lumbar region and glutes eases the ache that comes with a changing posture.
Less swelling
Gentle upward strokes through the legs help move fluid and relieve the heaviness that builds over a day on your feet.
Better sleep
Guests frequently report the best night's sleep in weeks after an evening prenatal session.
Calmer mind
Unhurried, respectful touch is genuinely settling during a period when very little feels within your control.
What to expect in the room
- 1We ask how far along you are, how the pregnancy has been, and whether your doctor has raised anything to avoid.
- 2You are positioned on your side with as many supportive pillows as you need — repositioning at any time is expected, not an inconvenience.
- 3Unscented or pregnancy-safe oil is used; strong essential oils are left out.
- 4Work focuses on the lower back, hips, shoulders, legs and feet, with pressure kept comfortable throughout.
- 5You are helped up slowly at the end and given time to sit before standing.
How we set the pressure
Light to moderate, always. Deep abdominal work and strong pressure around the ankles are avoided. If anything feels uncomfortable — including the position — say so immediately and we will change it.
Aftercare
- Stand up slowly and give yourself a minute before walking off.
- Drink water and keep your feet raised for a while if swelling has been an issue.
- For a first trimester or high-risk pregnancy, please check with your doctor before booking.
